September was a funny old month here in Moscow. It rained everyday. Or almost every day. Instead of the usual Indian Summer, we had almost three times the average rainfall for the month! A 130 year-old rainfall record was broken, and my diary was full of shoots that had to be postponed.
And postponed again. Until finally, October saw us enjoying sunshine and moderate temperatures. I managed to fit in a few shoots, my clients and I were all eager to make the most of the gorgeous light, and the autumn foliage. Today I’m sharing the first of these shoots with you.
We headed down to our local forest, where the leaves were golden, and the afternoon sun would soon be settling. We danced, we ran, and we laughed a lot. These gorgeous little sisters are 2 and 4 years old, and they are really enjoying each other’s company. I really wanted to capture their interactions, so I got them playing hide and seek, dancing through the leaves, and even singing ‘The Wheels on the Bus’. It was a pleasure to watch them together, and to capture these memories.
Once the candid shots were done, we moved into a dreamy patch of light to create some stunning portraits. I shot into the sun, to capture the golden glow of the late afternoon sun. The light was just glorious. As a photographer who specialises in natural light portraits, I couldn’t have asked for more lovely conditions.
We had a few more beautiful days in October, and I’ll be sharing those portraits with you soon. I’m also busy with my Moscow collection, so drop by again, follow me, or subscribe if you want to see what I’ve been up to. Have a wonderful week, Coralie XoXo
